The High King Cocktail

Today’s cocktail is inspired by one of my favourite Book-Series-Turned-Television-Show adaptation, The Magicians. And of course, it’s most directly influenced by my very nihilistic, sardonic, stylish and smart Elliott Waugh!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz London Dry Gin (such as Bombay Sapphire)

  • 3/4 oz Blue Curacao

  • 3/4 oz Absinthe

  • Dragonfruit & Passionfruit Sparkling Water

  • dry vermouth, to rinse the glass

  • Ice

  • Chilled Glass

Directions:

Place a drink glass in the freezer/refrigerator until ice cold. Remove the glass from the chiller and add about a 1/2 ounce of dry vermouth. Gently swirl it around the entire interior of the glass, and then pour it out. Next, add in 3 oz of gin, .75oz of Blue Curacao, .75oz of good quality absinthe, and top the glass off with some sparkling water (I used a Dragonfruit/Passionfruit flavor from Wegmans.) Add ice as desired, and sip leisurely. Feel free to add edible glitter stars for a little pizazz.
