FAQs

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

At this time I do not accept returns and all items are a final sale. However, if you have a question or problem with your order, please contact me within 14 days of receiving your items to resolve any issues. I want all of my patrons to be happy and satisfied with my goods and services!

Items purchased through any print-on-demand services may not be within my control to replace/refund.

Can I save up for some art and do a payment plan?

See something that you like, but can’t afford it all in one go? Let’s chat! I’m flexible and accommodating with payment plans for larger items. Deposits are required, and both deposits and installment payments will be non-refundable once applied to your balance. Payment plans must be paid in full by the agreed upon timeline, else I reserve the right to sell the art to another party for the remainder balance. (I also have a range of affordably priced artwork in smaller sizes for folks who want original art on a budget for one set price!)

Do you have more details on a particular listing?

I try to include as much information as possible in my listings about size, dimensions, weight, materials, etc where applicable. If you desire additional information, please use the CONTACT form under the info tab — You may send the link to the product in question and your inquiry.

How long until my commission is finished? How long does it take to get to me?

Due to the completely customized nature of commission work, projected timelines for your piece will vary. Commissions are completed on a first-come-first-serve basis. I will do my best to meet your requests for work to be done by a specific time and date, but please bear in mind I am one singular human being and I’m doing all of this by myself! I am not a robot from the Bezos Empire, haha! Please be patient, and be kind.

When requesting work for holidays, time-sensitive requests, or similar please be sure to leave at least 10-14 days for production time and 3-7 days for shipping in your timeline estimates. Due to postal service delays and other mailing issues from Coronavirus etc, please expect shipping may take a little longer than expected. Insurance is available on packages by request.

If your commission includes digital files, please be aware that these will be sent as e-mail attachments or Google Drive links for download unless other arrangements have been made.

No artwork will be sent to my patrons, digital or physical, until your commission bill has been paid in full. See the disclaimer at the bottom of this page for full details and policies on payment, sales, shipping, etc.

Do you ship internationally?

Thanks to the ongoing pandemic related struggle as well as things like Brexit and rising costs of international shipping, worldwide postage and tracking is a little sticky. At this time it’s not possible to purchase items for international shipment directly via my website. I apologize for the inconvenience, however I am happy to make you a custom order!

However, international customers should make requests for orders via e-mail. If I am able to accommodate the request, you will receive an electronic invoice to their e-mail i. You’ll receive a custom quote with the most accurate pricing currently available.

Please note: additional taxes, import fees, VAT charges may apply to shipments from US to international destinations; I am not responsible for nor do I control these potential additional charges and I am not able cover these costs at this time for my patrons.

Why don’t you offer Free 2-Day Shipping like Amazon or like some other sellers?

As much as I’d love to give y’all free 2 day shipping or the like, I am unfortunately not Jeff Bezos Rich…alas! Additionally, recent postal service shipping charges have been increased to a higher level than I can afford to sustain as a negative hit with each sale, but I do my best to combine shipping whenever possible to save you money when I’m able. Insurance, tracking, and/or rush shipping charges may also be available upon request for additional charges.

Why is shipping taking too long? My item says “lost in transit” what do I do? You gave me an estimated arrival window, but it’s not here yet? My item was damaged in transit, so what are you going to do about it?

Alas, I wish I had all the answers for this, because it is a series of questions that plague all indie artists. Unfortunately, like all small businesses and indie makers, I am at the mercy of the USPS, UPS, FedEx and other postal service providers, and believe you me it is just as frustrating for me as it is for you. I will help you with post as best I am able!

I generally choose the most efficient and cost-effective shipping, but I am happy to amend an order with special shipping requests; additional shipping increase may apply. Delivery dates are an estimate; I am unable to guarantee an exact delivery date. I am meticulous when it comes to packaging, and I do my best to ensure items are well insulated, well padded, and thoroughly sealed before shipment. In short, I do whatever is in my power to keep your items safe and sound and protected prior to passing them to their shipping service.

Once the package has been handed off to a carrier for pickup, or dropped at a postal facility for shipment, I am no longer in control. Lost packages, missing packages, and non-delivered items will require you to file a dispute with the carrier used to ship it. If an item is damaged in transit, you will have to file a dispute with the carrier used to ship your package.

If an item is lost or damaged, I cannot guarantee a replacement item will be available or possible, nor do I guarantee refunds in this case. I cannot guarantee the whim of the gods will be in your favor for exact arrival on an estimated date. I can only do my best, and I hope that you will understand I’m only one human doing what I can.

You’re welcome to reach out, and I will do what I can of course! But please know sometimes things are out of my hands and out of my control despite my best efforts and wishing with all my might.

Why does your artwork cost these prices?

As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day!” I have spent a lifetime honing my craft, learning new skills, investing in education and lessons, and practicing these processes. It’s a never ending journey to improve my work each day. Part of my pricing model includes labor, time, and education as a factor. Additionally, my business is essentially a one-woman show which supports my day-to-day existence and living expenses.

All of my work is fairly priced based on cost of materials, product photography, production time/labour, marketing and advertising, taxes and fees, packaging supplies, shipping and transportation costs, etc.

Okay, I got my art now what do I do with it?

I do my best to select professional quality artist materials, and seal my work with clear coat spray when applicable. I highly recommend purchasing a quality UV-Light Protective frame to preserve your artwork looking as vibrant and new as the day you got it. It is advisable that you also place your artwork out of the reach of direct sunlight. Even though lightfast and UV-glass protected artwork is fade resistant, it is not 100% completely impervious to the sun after exposure over an extended period of time; constant sunlight exposure can cause yellowing, slight fading, hazing, or other pigmentation issues. Same goes for heat/humidity! Sure, a climate controlled gallery environment is ideal, but to be honest your art is just fine at home provided it’s framed and out of the sun.

If you’ve purchased handmade beaded earrings with natural fibers or fabrics, I recommend stowing them out of the way of heat/humidity, and avoid getting them wet. Natural dyes and pigments of certain fibers can run or bleed if exposed to water. Book paper beads are sealed with water resistant primer, but it’s still paper. Store them safely in jewelry boxes or jewelry displays.

See below for more tips and guidance.

Caring and Keeping of Original Artworks, Photographs, and Prints:

  • The most important advice we can impart is that your painting/print/photograph should be framed; we recommend framing by a professional if possible. Putting your precious original painting or drawing behind glass/plexiglass will preserve it for years to come. Glass/Plexiglass protects it from damage by environmental elements like dust, humidity, UV rays, and oils from human hands (or sticky paws of our pets!)

  • Do not hang the artwork in direct sunlight. Even though many professional art materials are considered “lightfast”, placing artwork or photographs directly in the sun can do severe damage such as fading pigment or colors. Rotating artwork from room to room or by season can help ensure your piece gets a little less exposure to direct sun for extended periods of time.

  • Choose a safe location for your artwork! Consider the location and what environmental damages may occur there. Most artwork is not suitable for long term exposure to humidity of bathrooms, grease or steam from kitchen cooking, or smoke/ash/soot from fireplaces. That’s not to say you cannot hang things in those places, but adequate protection or understanding damage risks of that placement are key. Be thoughtful when choosing a location for your new art baby!

Care and Keeping of Bespoke Jewelry and/or Accessories:

  • Your jewelry piece is a one-of-a-kind item which is handmade with care and attention to quality and detail.

  • If your item contains natural fabrics, hand-dyed elements, paper beads, and/or vintage components, we recommend storing your items in a safe place such as a jewelry box. Over time things such as humidity, sunlight, oils from our hands, pet hair/dander, home products, and other environmental factors can accelerate damage to your special occasion pieces. Keeping them protected from extraneous damage outside of normal wear-and-tear can keep them beautiful for years to come.

  • To avoid tarnishing on precious metals, store your items in a jewelry box and clean your jewelry by hand with specialized jewelry cleaning fluid (available at most jewelers.)

  • Bespoke jewelry pieces are generally recommended for use by adults; use by teenagers and/or children is at customer’s discretion. Some decorative elements or vintage components may not be safe for all skin allergies. Please read product descriptions carefully to choose the correct product for your needs.

About the Product Imagery and Photography:

A note on product imagery versus original item — Items are professionally photographed and colour corrected to the best of our abilities; other items are provided by the Print On Demand services. We do our best to ensure that products are represented as accurately to the original as possible, but some colour variance may occur. However, due to your personal monitor/screen settings, color calibration, environmental lighting, and/or screen brightness please be aware some image colors may appear different on screen as they do in person.

Theft prevention methods in the form of website address, ghost-text and light, transparent text or descriptions may appear on some product imagery. Watermarks used in product images will not appear on products; watermarked imagery is there to prevent theft and unauthorized copies/reselling of artist’s original works. Unfortunately, the internet is sometimes a nasty place and folks like to cash in on bogus reproductions of original work!
